Newark Liberty International Airport Taxi Information
Tipping is customary for good service.
During weekday rush hours - mornings (6:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m.) and afternoons (3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m) - there is an additional $10.00 surcharge for all points in the State of New York.
It is unlawful for an owner or driver of a taxicab to charge or cause to be charged, except as hereinafter provided, a greater sum for the use of a cab than in accordance with the rate schedule of fares for service from Newark Liberty International Airport when conveying one or more persons (in the same group) to any point in any municipality in New Jersey other than those specified in special areas and to any point in New York City, excluding tolls.
Round trip tolls are not included in quoted fare.
There is an additional $1.00 charge for each piece of baggage over 24 inches.
There is a 10% senior citizen discount (62 years and older) upon presentation of proper identification.
$1.75 PANYNJ per-trip Airport Access Fee will apply for pick-ups only.
Please take your receipt from the taxi dispatcher and retain for your record’s.
The local taxi commissions automatically add a surcharge to all credit card transactions.
AirTrain Newark
AirTrain is the most efficient way to get around Newark Liberty International Airport - operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. AirTrain connects passengers to airline terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttles and central parking lots.
AirTrain Hours of Operation
5:00AM to 11:00PM: Arrives and departs every 3-5 minutes daily.
11:00PM to 5:00AM: Arrives and departs every 15 minutes (approx.) daily. Please note that during these hours, AirTrain runs as a shuttle service which may require train transfers to reach your final destination.

The Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station can be reached via NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak rail service from New York Penn Station or Newark Penn Station.
Approximate travel times to and from these destinations are below.
New York Penn Station to/from EWR: 30 minutes (approx.)
Newark Penn Station to/from EWR: 5 minutes (approx.)
After arriving at EWR, passengers should budget extra time to transfer to the AirTrain platform, wait for the AirTrain to arrive, and travel on the AirTrain based on the frequency of service listed in the prior section.
Once on board, passengers can expect an additional 7 to 20 minutes for traveling between terminals. More information on this last segment of the journey can be found in the next section.
