Don't forget to rent a car.Charlotte's a driver's town.
Do try out the light-rail system.Though it's route is short and limited, the LYNX Blue Line can get you from Uptown, through the convention center, to I485.
Don't overpay for parking.
Do take advantage of the light rail, Gold Rush or streetcar to avoid traffic.

Ground Transportation
Car Rental Services
All rental car companies, with the exception of Thrifty, are located in the Rental Car Facility in the Level 2 lobby of the Hourly Parking Deck in front of the terminal. Thrifty is located off site and provides shuttle service between their company location near CLT and the terminal. The Rental Car Facility in the Hourly Parking Deck holds 3,000 rental cars on levels 1-3. Click here for information regarding returning and picking up rental at the Rental Car Facility.
With the exception of on-site rental cars, all ground transportation from the airport is available at the lower level curbside (Arrivals/Baggage Claim) of the terminal. Public transportation provided by Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) picks up in front of Zone D Baggage Claim.
Ride Sharing Services
Uber
Uber service is available on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level (lower level outside Zone D). Use the Uber app to request a ride. After the ride, Uber will automatically charge the credit card on file with your account.For more information about Uber, including how to sign up and estimating the cost of your trip, click here.
Lyft
Lyft and Lyft Plus service is available on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level (lower level outside zone D). Use the Lyft app to request a ride. After the ride, simply pay through your phone. Taxi Service and Rates
Taxi service is available curbside, on the Baggage Claim level. An attendant is on duty to assist passengers from 6:45 a.m. – 12:15 a.m. Although passengers may pre-arrange to use any taxi service provider, there are three taxi companies available through the Airport’s taxi queue: City Cab, Crown Cab and Yellow Cab. These companies are evaluated annually to ensure all taxis have a GPS system, credit card technology and adhere to guidelines set forth by CLT. All rates listed below are for up to two passengers.
