Vision Airlines announces today the launch of its non-stop, low-fare air service between Chattanooga, Tenn., and Destin - Fort Walton Beach, Fla., beginning April 1, 2011, with rates starting at $89/one way*. To celebrate the largest expansion of a commercial airline in more than a decade, travelers may book flights to Florida at the $49/one way* introductory fare, when booked between Jan. 18 - 23, 2011.

Lower fares are coming to the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport courtesy of US Airways, who will be introducing a new lower fare structure for local travelers. Many of US Airways' fares to the airport's top destinations have been reduced 30%-50%, leaving them within $80 of fares from Atlanta.

Due to strong community demand, Allegiant Air, LLC, has reversed its earlier decision to end service and will now continue low-cost, nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport resuming Nov. 20.

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport saw a record-breaking number of passengers board airplanes in October. Passenger boardings grew by 25% over the same month in 2006, with 28,394 enplanements - the highest one-month total on record.

Chattanooga, Tenn., residents will soon have yet another way to get to the sun as Allegiant Air, LLC announces new, nonstop jet service to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport beginning Dec. 13.

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport saw passenger boardings grow by 19% in Q1 2007. During the first three months of the year, 68,511 passengers have boarded in Chattanooga, as opposed to 57,627 passenger boardings in the same period of 2006.

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority has partnered with the Airnet Group to provide airport visitors and passengers free wireless service.

Low-cost airline Allegiant Air, LLC today announces new, nonstop jet service to the fun and sun of Orlando, Fla., from Chattanooga, Tenn., beginning Oct. 31. The low-fare carrier will celebrate the convenient new service to the Sunshine State, with introductory fares as low as $49* each way, when booked at www.allegiantair.com.

In response to the terrorist threat to international aviation security, the Secretary of Homeland Security has elevated the Homeland Security Advisory System Threat Condition to High, or Orange, for all domestic commercial aviation, which includes flights arriving and departing from the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.

Mike Landguth, President and CEO of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) - the largest professional organization for airport executives in the world. With nearly 500 voting members, the Southeast Chapter of AAAE is the largest chapter within the national organization.

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport is kicking off the new year with a renewed focus on providing superior customer service to local passengers. An Information Booth has been opened in the former Parking Pay Station on the first floor of the Airport terminal which is staffed with a Passenger Services Representative after business hours (5 p.m. - 11 p.m., Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. - 9 p.m., Sunday)

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport saw enplanements grow by 5.84% in 2005, ending the year with 258,745 total boardings. Deplanements for the year rose by 4.8%, reaching 251,624.
